When Tears Revealed the Truth
In a remote village in the northwest of Hadramout province, known as Ad-Dhulaiah, a young boy named Mohammed lived with his family. He was a frequent crier, his wails filling the day and night, leaving his parents deeply concerned. His constant distress posed an ongoing challenge for the family, who desperately sought a way to comfort him.
In search of a solution, neighbors advised them to visit the Primary Healthcare Center in Al-Hajrain. With hope in their hearts, they embarked on a two-hour journey to reach the center, seeking an explanation for their son’s persistent crying.
Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by pediatric consultant Dr. Asrar Al-Radhi, who demonstrated exceptional expertise and attentiveness in listening to their concerns and analyzing them carefully. Thanks to her extensive experience—reflecting the high standard of medical staff at the Al-Hajrain Healthcare Center—she conducted a comprehensive examination of Mohammed.
The results revealed an unexpected condition. In addition to a mild chest infection, Mohammed was diagnosed with hearing impairment, a condition requiring specialized intervention for further evaluation and precise diagnosis. Recognizing the urgency, Dr. Asrar recommended an immediate referral to a specialized audiology center for further tests to determine the exact nature of his condition and establish an appropriate treatment plan.
The family continued their journey to Mukalla, where advanced tests confirmed that Mohammed suffered from hearing loss, requiring a cochlear implant surgery. Although naturally anxious about the procedure, his parents found reassurance and encouragement from the medical team, giving them the confidence to proceed with the surgery.
Today, at two and a half years old, Mohammed can speak clearly, enjoying a much happier and more peaceful childhood. His journey to recovery became an inspiring story, and the Al-Hajrain Healthcare Center became an integral part of his family’s life. Despite the long distance, the family continues to visit the center, trusting in the expertise and compassionate care of the medical staff.
Mohammed’s story stands as a living testament to the power of comprehensive and continuous healthcare, proving how medical support and trust can open doors to hope and growth, even in the most remote areas.
