Al-Awn Foundation for Development Receives the "Gold Category" in Institutional Commitment Certification at the Arab World Level – 2025 Cycle

Misr El Kheir Foundation and the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Society, under the auspices of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development and with the support of the Ministry of Social Solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt, honored Al-Awn Foundation for Development – Republic of Yemen – by awarding it the Institutional Commitment Certificate – Gold Category as part of the second cycle of 2025, during the official ceremony held on Sunday morning, June 22, 2025, at the Environmental, Cultural, and Educational Center (Beit El-Qahira) in Al-Fustat.

Al-Awn Foundation received this prestigious certificate after successfully passing evaluation and review stages based on rigorous professional standards developed to promote the principles of governance, institutional performance quality, and sustainability in the non-profit sector.

A total of 201 civil society organizations participated in the second cycle, including 177 Egyptian organizations from 24 governorates, and 24 Arab organizations from six countries (Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, and Iraq). Following a thorough evaluation process, only 20 organizations successfully met the required standards – among them, Al-Awn Foundation, which stood out by receiving the highest classification in the award.

In its speech during the ceremony, Al-Awn Foundation expressed its pride in this achievement, which crowns a long journey of institutional development, starting with the Foundation’s earlier attainment of the ISO 9001 international quality certification.

The Foundation emphasized that this recognition reflects a deep-rooted institutional culture that values continuous improvement and believes that institutional success is the result of collective – not individual – effort.

Al-Awn also praised the remarkable efforts of the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Society and Misr El Kheir Foundation in empowering and supporting civil society organizations across the Arab region. It highlighted the real opportunity this certification presents for organizations to re-evaluate and scientifically develop their internal systems.

In conclusion, the Foundation addressed all development organizations in the Arab world with a clear message: Institutional excellence is not a luxury, but a strategic necessity for ensuring sustainability and maximizing social impact.
